Today's offering showcases this quite uncommon and collectable Chronometer in gorgeous restored condition with emerald green vignette dial and original Omega "beads of rice" bracelet.
Seamaster Chronometers made after 1952 are one of Omega's seldom seen vintage watches. They featured all of the rugged sportiness of the Seamaster line coupled with an officially certified chronometer movement.
After their release and after Omega divided the line into two models in 1952, the "plain" Seamaster, a sport watch without chronometer certification, and the Constellation, the higher-end chronometer option. Omega only made a relatively few Seamaster Chronometers.
It measures slightly over 35mm in diameter, in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Datejust model.
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous restored condition - the watch itself presents as a 9.6 out of 10.
Its case presents as mint and shows only slight signs of previous polishing. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in emerald green vignette - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
Its original Omega bracelet shows fairly mild to moderate signs of stretch - its finish presents as mint and the logo on its buckle is still very strong
As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced its Officially Certified Chronometer movement which consists of fully disassembling the watch, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping time nearly on par with a new Omega in our testing.
For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
